Luxardo Amaretto di Saschira is produced by the Luxardo family distillery, which was founded in 1821. “Amaretto” – a combination of the Italian words for “bitter” and “love” - has a romantic history. Di Saschira refers to Luxardo’s practice of using almonds from southern Sicily. After aging for 8 months, it develops notes of marzipan, black tea, and toast. Historically a digestif, a staple in fine pastries, and most familiar in an Amaretto Sour or Godfather.
