The Corpse Reviver No. 2 was invented by the American bartender Harry Craddock in the early 20th century. It was originally used to mean "bring back to life", but Craddock's recipe was made with equal parts of four different types of liqueurs, making it famously difficult to drink more than one.
A Corpse Reviver is a cocktail made from gin, lemon juice, Cointreau, and absinthe. If you add it to soda water, you can drink it before dinner.
