Another individual award is out in the lead up to the announcement of Asia's 50 Best Bars 2021. This year's deserving winner of the Mancino Vermouth Bartenders' Bartender is Bannie Kang from Mu: Bar in Taipei. This award is particularly special as it is the only peer-voted accolade in the 50 Best lineup. After starting her career in South Korea, and performing well in the World Class competition, Bannie moved to Singapore and eventually trained under Proof & Company's own Tom Hogan at Anti:Dote Bar at Fairmont Hotel Singapore. Bannie and her husband Tryson now co-own Mu: Bar in Taipei, which focuses on classic cocktails with Asian flavours. As Tom tells it, Bannie's most memorable quote is "No pain, no gain." Congratulations Bannie and Mu: Bar for this wonderful win!
