Peychaud’s Bitters is a product of the Sazerac Company. Created by Antoine Amedee Peychaud, a New Orleans pharmacist during the 19th century. Peychaud’s Bitters is a necessary ingredient to make a Sazerac cocktail, which originally called for brandy instead of whiskey. Anise dominates this bitters, but cloves, cherry and cinnamon create many layers of flavor.
