Beginning in 1883, Bunnahabhain, meaning 'mouth of the river' was built, true to its name, at the mouth of the Margadale Spring on the shores of the Sound of Islay. This expression was bottled at 49.5% ABV, and is one of 222 bottles of this batch.
Nose: Initial hints of Buttery fudge, peanuts and sweet almonds, which softens to fruity notes of pears and apples with an underlying salinity brought about by the coastal environment.
Palate: Earthy with hints of Nutmeg, charred oak and apples. Thick, rich sweet notes of toffee with a touch of savouriness.
Finish: Wintery flavours dissipates into a lengthy finish.
